ECONOMIC SECURITY AS A COMPONENT OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY SYSTEM OF UKRAINE

Abstract

B a c k g r o u n d . Economic security takes a key place in the national security system, because it forms the material and institutional basis for the stable functioning of all its components – political, social, military, environmental, technological, and informational. Without a sustainable economy, it is impossible to ensure the competitiveness of the state in the international arena, maintain defense capability, implement effective social policy, guarantee environmental balance, and promote the development of scientific and technical potential. The economy is not only a source of resources, but also a space in which social attitudes, moral cohesion, and strategic guidelines are formed. In a period of system challenges, in particular war, global crises, and technological transformations, economic security becomes not just an element, but the foundation of national survival and recovery.
M e t h o d s . To obtain scientific results, methods of dialectical and formal logic were used – to study the essence of economic security and its components; statistical methods – for data presentation; comprehensive and systematic approaches – for the study of risks and threats to economic security and its components; structural methods – to assess existing processes and opportunities to minimize and prevent existing threats and risks to economic security; analytical and comparative approaches, comparison – for the study of the directions of support and development of various spheres of the national economy in modern conditions.
R e s u l t s . The essence and significance of economic security within Ukraine's national security system were established. The scientific approaches to interpreting the concept of economic security and its components were examined. The regulatory support of economic security is analyzed. The challenges and threats to industrial, demographic, social, energy, foreign economic, investment and innovation, macroeconomic, food and financial security were considered, statistical information and analytical data characterizing the problems and trends of the main components of economic security in modern conditions were presented. The ways to minimize the negative effects of internal and external threats and challenges to economic security and its components in the national security system of Ukraine were determined.
C o n c l u s i o n s . In modern conditions of war, economic security turns into a strategic resource of the state. It determines the ability of Ukraine to withstand external pressure, maintain internal stability and realize national interests. Its effective provision requires concerted action between state institutions, transparent economic policy and active participation of citizens. Only with a systematic approach, economic security can become a strong pillar of national security and the basis for the restoration and development of the country.
